In a significant development for Delhi’s urban transport infrastructure, a new metro line connecting Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block has been announced under Phase-4 of the Delhi Mass Rapid Transport System. The project will be executed by Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), the construction arm of the Ministry of Railways.
This critical corridor will span 7.3 km and feature an elevated viaduct with seven elevated stations: 🔹 Lajpat Nagar 🔹 Andrews Ganj 🔹 GK-1 🔹 Chirag Delhi 🔹 Pushpa Bhawan 🔹 Saket District Centre 🔹 Saket G Block Pushp Vihar
The project is valued at approximately ₹447.42 crore (inclusive of GST) and is scheduled to be completed within 36 months. According to RVNL, this marks their first project under the Delhi Metro, reflecting their growing role in urban transport development across India.
Aimed at enhancing connectivity in South Delhi, this line is expected to significantly reduce travel time and decongest roads in residential and commercial zones. It will offer a faster, greener, and more efficient commuting alternative for thousands of daily passengers.
“This project will further facilitate smoother, more sustainable, and efficient public transport in the national capital,” RVNL stated.
The addition of this line under Phase-4 reaffirms Delhi Metro’s commitment to expanding its network to underserved areas and improving last-mile connectivity. With increasing demand for eco-friendly and reliable transit, the Lajpat Nagar–Saket G Block line is a strategic step toward a more integrated and accessible city transport system.
